The Village at Western Oaks Neighborhood in Austin, Texas

The Village at Western Oaks is situated 10 miles from downtown and offers a peaceful atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The community features many green spaces, so you'll find the streets lined with trees for a suburban-like atmosphere. Many home owners are drawn to this area due to its easy access to MoPac, I-35, and US 290.
The community boasts a wide variety of homes for prospective buyers to choose from, many of which were built in the mid-1980s through today. Home prices start at around $200,000, with some more spacious, luxurious homes priced into the $350,000 range. The moderately priced real estate makes the neighborhood ideal for both families and young professionals. For those who wish to rent, there are a few luxury apartment and condo developments including the Legacy at Western Oaks, Beckett Place, and Davis Place.
Outdoor enthusiasts love the community because of its wide variety of recreational activities. One of the most popular areas is Dick Nichols Park on the east side of the neighborhood. Not far from the southern edge of the neighborhood sits the popular Veloway, a 3.2-mile trail that's designed specifically for cyclists and rollerbladers - with no walking or running allowed.
The Grey Rock Golf Club is just minutes from the Village at Western Oaks and is considered one of the finest golf courses in Austin. The 18-hole championship course was designed by Jay Morrish, an award-winning golf architect. Austin residents love the course due to its renowned teaching professionals, beautiful facilities, and stunning Hill Country setting.
Residents can take advantage of several nearby conveniences. The Shops at Arbor Trails, located at MoPac and William Cannon, offers several specialty stores and dining venues. The new Escarpment Village is also nearby. The "green building" development features an array of upscale retail spots including an HEB, two banks, a dental office, veterinary clinic, and several restaurants.
Students in the neighborhood attend classes at schools that are part of the Austin Independent School District. Nearby schools include Mills Elementary, Patton Elementary, Small Middle School, and Bowie High School. High school students may also attend nearby Austin High School.
